My wife for sometime has been receiving literature from AARP. Of course, as the pestering husband, I have heckled her a wee bit about this "rite of passage." And at the same time, lamented with great exaggeration, why I do not get the breaks and advantages of AARP.
So....here is the thing.
Yesterday, in the mail, she received yet another piece of literature and more incentives and benefits of this "rite of passage."
And what did I receive? Apparently there is a message being sent to me. I jumped completely over the opportunity of this Rite of Passage (AARP) and straight to the earthly culmination. My invitation was from a firm to sign up for CREMATION.
Life, death. Fickled fellows.
So for this day, while I recognize the fragility of life's ebb and flow -- I will live with hope and joy that in God, all things work for the good. (loosely quoting the Apostle Paul)
