9/11 10th Anniversary Service | Never Forget  …HOPE
Central Christian Church (3475 Kimball Avenue) will be holding a service of remembrance and hope upon the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York City, the Pentagon, and the passenger airline that crashed in Pennsylvania.

This experience will:
  • Remembering and honor the victims and those who sacrificed lives for others upon the 10th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.

  • Honoring those who make our lives safe and our community a great place to live, work and raise families.

  • Address hope, how it is happening, and the source of ultimate hope that guarantees — times have been hard, but it is about to be GREAT.

The experience will include four featured speakers:

Chief Daniel Trelka
Director of Public Safety for the City of Waterloo, IA

Dr. Susan Kosche' Vallem.
Professor at Wartburg College.  Dr. Kosche is a wonderful Red Cross supporter, trainer and volunteer, who was deployed to the 9/11 tragedy.

Candice Mann
AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer for the American Red Cross Hawkeye Chapter.  Ms. Mann is a resident of New York City, she was 13 years of age at the time of the attacks…family members – fire fighters, police and public safety were deployed.  An uncle died in the unfolding events.   Of this life-shaping moment she states, "the events on 9-11 have impacted my life greatly. With this being the 10 year anniversary, I would like to help show others the strength I’ve gained growing up in a post 9-11 world, and to show thanks for the kindness and generosity that I have seen communities give to those who suffered from the attacks."

Tara Thomas
News Anchor & Reporter for KWWL.

In Addition, Dr. L. Brent Cantrell, the Pastor of Central Christian Church will share a brief message of HOPE titled: Laughing at the Times to Come, based upon Jeremiah 29
